The functions of promotion and dissemination in society of the merits of competition

The functions of promoting and disseminating the benefits of free competition are regulated in part through Law 6/2004 and in part through Decree 20/2005.

In the report that it must issue to the Parliament of Galicia, the GCC must include an assessment of the level competition in Galicia, which serves to verify any progress that is being made in this field, and wherever necessary, to alert both the legislative and executive powers.

Beyond this diagnosis, as stipulated in Article 1 of Decree 20/2005, regarding Law 6/2004, the GCC shall be able to instigate the carrying out of studies into the matter of competition that it may see fit, as well as to carry out all those activities that may be necessary to disseminate the benefits of free competition to society.

Moreover, this very Decree authorizes the GCC to communicate to the GSDC those activities that may lead to a procedure arising from conduct envisaged in the application stetting of Law 6/2004.
